New in 2010! The Pawnee/Arikara earth lodge
Take a short walk to our NEW Pawnee/Arikara earth lodge! Twenty four Pawnee and Arikara tribal members from Oklahoma, North Dakota, and beyond, came together to create the largest traditionally-built earth lodge in North America at the Archway. Built in 13 days, the earth lodge was completed in early June of this year.

Joe Starita Book Signing and Crane Festival

Two time Pulitzer Prize nominee Joe Starita, will be part of the exciting conclusion of the Kearney Crane Watch Festival. He will be participating in a book signing of his latest " I AM A MAN" which earned him the Leo Reano Award. Joe Starita is a professor in the College of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.

Cranefest

Join us during the amazing Sandhill Crane season, when over 500,000 Sandhill Cranes converge in our area! The Archway will have special Sandhill Crane exhibits and films. Guides for daytime tours are available by reservation. Beginning in 2012, the Kearney area will celebrate the season with a nine-day Sandhill Crane Festival, which will end on April 1 with an event at the Archway.
