THE ARCHWAY PARTICIPATES IN THE DISCOVERY TRAILS PROGRAM
A program put on through Accessible Arts, Incorporated
The Discovery Trails Program engages blind teens in a lived-experience of pioneering along westward Trails. Accessible Arts, Incorporated organizes historically accurate adventuring, camping and creative arts to facilitate teens’ personal growth and to enhance their capacity for community service to schools and civic groups. In April 2007, the President’s Committee on Arts and Humanities recognized the Discovery Trails Program as “one of the top arts- and humanities-based programs in the country serving youth beyond the school hours.”
The Archway's Operations and Education Director, Ronnie O'Brien, will be accompanying the group from July 9-12. The students will also participate in the Trails to Towns program and the Historic Re-enactment program at the Archway. The Archway is pleased to be included in such an outstanding program!
